Research

Over the course if his career, Andrew Muhammad, Professor and Blasingame Chair who leads this research, has written over 80 refereed journal articles. He has also served as PI or Co-PI on funded research and outreach activities totaling over $6.2 million including funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, USDA-National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA), and the National Science Foundation (NSF). His research on global food demand has been widely cited and used in economic and global models such as USDA’s Baseline model, the Global Trade Analysis Project (GTAP) model, and International Food Policy Research Institute’s (IFPRI) International Model for Policy Analysis of Agricultural Commodities and Trade (IMPACT) model. His current research focuses on agricultural trade and policy, global competitiveness of U.S. agriculture, effects of trade on developing countries, and global food demand.
